Research Link 440
Prospective active A/C-solutions and buidling design
Based on a Modelica system model, the performance of A/C systems during hazardous climate conditions (considered time period some days to a week) are analyzed. Ambient climate conditions are contributed by Research Module 1.2 "Urban climate". Results from the indoor climate analysis will be fed back to the Research Module "Climate-responsive buildings". A repetitive exchange of simulation results between the research modules is realized.
For seasonal simulation analysis within Research Module 4.3 "Building Technologies", especially the analysis of the part load performance of the A/C-systems, such as heat-pump mode or free cooling, appropriate indoor climate conditions and thermal indices shall be made available for the research partners.
The work within the Research Link 440 aims also at the analysis of size and placement of prospective active A/C-systems that allow a reduced primary energy demand and heat-stress risks. Ambient climate conditions are contributed again by RM 1.2 as input data. Geometrical data are derived by the indoor climate conditions and thermal indices, which are calculated by Research Module 2.2 "Indoor Simulations" and with respect to several A/C-systems concepts from RM 4.3.
